BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese equities closed lower on midday Thursday, with financial and real estate heavyweights leading the losses.

        The Shanghai Composite Index went down 0.83 percent to close at 3,008.17 points.

        The Senzhen Component Index shed 0.21 percent to 11,742.57 points.
